Josh Medors Benefit Auction

Josh Medors as you may or may not know is a comic book artist who is currently fighting cancer. I personally haven't met him.

Being a comic book artist means that you don't get some privileges some other jobs might have like health insurance. So a bunch of artists including Frank Frazetta, Dave Finch and many others have gathered to form a benefit auction to hold out a helping hand to Josh. I thought the least I could do was direct you to the auctions which can be found below;

Be sure to check it out. As I mentioned above there are a ton of artwork up for auction. You'll probably find something you'll like and it will be for a good cause.

War Of Kings: Gladiator

Here are some pages I've done for the Gladiator story I've done for Marvel's digital comics. Before you ask, I believe it will be printed in a collected edition in the future.

I was initially going to ink this one myself but I was asked to do something else for Marvel so I've only inked a third of the story. The rest was inked by Jeffrey Huet. When I ink my own work I usually don't go into much detail with the pencils and finish up in inks. It leaves a lot of room for spontaneity. As I was going to ink these pages myself the pencils, as you will notice, are somewhat loose.

It was fun working on this one as I've always enjoyed Gladiator as a character since I first saw him in John Byrne's Fantastic Four and later in Byrne and Claremont's Uncanny X-Men. Byrne's work has been one of my earliest inspirations. I wonder if it still shows in my stuff.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Sketch Cards

Here are some samples of sketch cards I've done for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine card set by Rittenhouse Archives and Marvel. Being one of my favourite characters I've had a lot of fun working on this. This was sort of a surprise project so I only did a total of 48 cards. Below is a favourite of mine. I took my time on that one and even though it has it's problems, I like it considering it's only a tiny sketch card..
